The search for more efficient engines to lower fuel consumption and reduce environmental impact has increased competition for the improvement of metallic materials between manufacturers. In jet engines the high temperatures, corrosive fluids, friction, high pressure, fatigue cycles and centrifugal forces make this operating environment extremely hostile; even the structural fastening components must guarantee maximum reliability with large temperature changes and long fatigue cycles.

To ensure that these conditions are overcome it is necessary to provide high performance materials; NICKEL ALLOYS, BASE-Fe SUPERALLOYS, BASE Ni ALLOYS, which are characterized by high oxidation and corrosion resistance at high temperatures in the turbine (combustion box, vanes, blisks, engine shafts, rotor, spool, turbine disk, rings, disks, etc.) TITANIUM ALLOYS maximum resistance to corrosion and best existing ratio between specific weight and mechanical resistance, which maintains its characteristics up to approximately 400 °C, make TITANIUM ALLOYS suitable for the production of molded and/or tooled structural components (e.g. flanges, engine support, wing pylon bracket, pylon attachments); hydraulic components, rivets and for the low temperature pieces of the jet engine; the manifold and the compressor. HIGH STRENGTH STAINLESS STEEL ALLOYS characterized by good corrosion resistance with high mechanical strength and toughness (austenitic, martensitic and precipitation hardening steels) are used for structural, fastening and engine components, frame components, landing gear, internal linings, external linings, rivets, fasteners (e.g. mat.: 1.4594- 1.4534-1.4545-1.4542-1.4125-1.4057-1.4938 -1.4980-2.4668-Ti6Al4V); turbocharger, turboprop, turbojet and turbofan engine components, compressor blades, fan disc, impeller, pipes, fittings, valves and connectors (e.g. mat.: 1.4545-1.4541-1.4542-1.4550-2.4668-2.4856-Ti6Al4V).
